Custom Timber Framing for a Federation Cottage Extension

In 2015 Traditional Timber Frames undertook a project to add an extension to a federation era cottage home in Arcadia, NSW. It involved the design and creation of a full timber framed addition, with a soaring raked ceiling revealing beautiful exposed trusses with gently curved featured elements. As you can see from the photos the results were stunning!

This project was commissioned under a partnership between architects Suttie & Rofe in 2013. The project was a multi-million dollar development of the Benedict XVI retreat centre, owned by the Catholic Church. Our brief was to design and construct an outdoor pavilion roof as the centre point feature of the entire development.

Traditional Timber Trusses for Family Chapel

This unique project was commissioned in 2019 by a family who wanted a building that reminded them and future generations of their local village in Italy. The family estate in Bungonia is covered with olive groves and a large home. The brief was to create a small, traditional styled chapel on the estate for all the family to enjoy.
